“Help a foster child”-program
| Projecten - AR 2007/25 SEMPATTI |
The Ananda-project 2007125 SEMPATTI concerns special care to children that have been infected with the HIV-virus.
Supposedly around 20.000 people in the Dindigull district have been infected with Aids.
Mr. Abritto Selveraj keeps us up-to-date on a regular basis about the progression and the impact of this Ananda project.
1.000 euro (55.023 rupees) made it possible to buy school uniforms for around 160 children, soap, toothpaste, hairoil and a mixture of 16 different grain nutrimix powder as food-parcels. On top of this, 10 families received an amount of 1.500 rupees as a loan to start up a small business or store.
Since the end of 2008 another 50 children who have been infected with HIV have joined the project.
To be able to provide care, schooling and such for these children, the help of Ananda vzw is called once more.
The start up of a “revolving-fund” is very hopeful
This is a fund which is established for a specific cause, with the condition that refunds to the fund will be used once again for the exact same cause.
In this case, Ananda vzw provides a starting capital, with which certain families are granted loans to be able to start up a small business. After a certain time, the loans are repaid and the net-profit is allocated to a certain fund.
From this fund new families are granted starting capitals to start up their own small businesses.
The SSH (Society for Serving Humanity) is the local NGO that supervises the progression
